Welcome

We are a parish of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco located in Beaverton, Oregon. St. John the Baptist was founded in 1997 as a mission to serve the Westside of the Portland metropolitan area. Our parish is made up of members who were both raised in the Faith and those who have converted to Orthodoxy. Our current location is a beautifully remodeled building on Walker Road, though our vision is to eventually build a Byzantine style church and supporting facilities on an appropriate site. We welcome visitors to come and experience the Orthodox Christian Faith.

Clergy

  • Fr. Theodore Dorrance, priest
  • Fr. Timothy Pavlatos, priest
  • Dn. Innocent Duchow-Pressley, deacon
  • Dn. George Ketrenos, deacon

Our office hours are 9:30am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday. The parish administrator, Thomaida, can answer many of your questions. Please feel free to contact her at the number below or e-mail the churchoffice [at] stjohngoc [dot] org (Church Office).

St. John the Baptist is also the host of Portland's only Orthodox Christian school, Agia Sophia Academy, currently offering pre-K through 5th grade. Click the seal below to visit the school's website:
